Title: Shattered BlueImage result for shattered blue

Author: Lauren Bird Horowitz

Genre: Fantasy, Romance

Review: I actually had the honor of meeting this author back at Book Con, and it was also how I was introduced to the Light Series. Lauren is very sweet and has a beautiful website, so be sure to check it out here!

The book is split into three parts, each titled after one of the main character: Noa, Callum and Judah. Noa is recovering after her sister’s disappearance when she meets Callum and, later, Judah. They introduce Noa to a world she never dreamed of. It’s a world full of love, magic, power – and danger.

From start to finish, I really enjoyed the book! Horowitz’s writing style seems effortless as she artistically weaves her words. She describes the most mundane things and makes them beautiful. One of my favorite scenes was when Noa remembers making blintzes (a food similar to a pancake in texture) with her family. It was written so beautifully and made me want to taste the food myself.

Although it did drag a little at some parts, the plot was well-developed and I was completely invested in the characters by the end of the book. Overall, it was a very enjoyable read that I highly recommend for anyone looking for a romance with good characters and a twisting plot.

Good Choice if You Liked: Hush, Hush, Beautiful Creatures, Throne of Glass

The book sounds very interesting, but do you think a seventy-five year old male would like it-or is it too romantic?
